Guest lecturer, Sep. 17 and 19

I will be away at a conference and workshop in the UK this coming week. In my absence, Mr. Stanislav Veinberg has kindly consented to delivering the 59-240 lectures.

He will cover:

Sept. 17 - the remainder of L03, intro to L04 if time
Sept. 19 - L04

I will be back in class on Sept. 22, 2014.

I am still reachable via email during the next week.

Classes and labs canceled: Monday Sept. 15

I received this message at 5:00 p.m. Fri. Sept. 12, 2014:

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students:
In view of the planned one day strike by faculty on Monday Sept 15, 2014, ALL LABS AND LECTURES WILL BE CANCELLED. I ask that Faculty inform their students (via CLEW etc) as soon as possible.

In addition, GRADUATE STUDENTS CANNOT PERFORM LABORATORY WORK IF THEIR RESEARCH SUPERVISORS ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE WORK STOPPAGE.

Intro Week - September 8-12

There will be an introductory laboratory for all those students registered in 59-240 laboratories, which will begin the week of Monday, September 8, 2014.

  • If you are regularly scheduled at 2:30, show up at your normal day and time.
  • If you are regularly scheduled at 6:00, show up at your normal day and time.

Intro laboratory will simply feature the development of new sets of partners and assignments for laboratory schedules.

If you cannot make it to the introductory laboratory, you must contact your GA immediately.
