I am still waiting for a classroom assignment - hopefully this will be available by class time tomorrow.

URGENT: Mid-term #2 results and Nov. 20, 2015 lecture

The second mid-term results are in:

Average: 30.3/40.0 or 75.8%

Due to this remarkably high average, as well as the limited time remaining in the course, an exam review will not be given during the Nov. 20, 2015 time slot; rather, we will move on to Lecture 15 (new notes are posted).

A tutorial section will be scheduled early next week during the evening for students wishing to review the exam materials.

Review Notes for Mid-term #2

The review notes for Mid-term #2, presented in class on Mon. Nov. 16, 2015, are now available on the Downloads page.

Reminder: last day for voluntarily withdrawal from courses

Just a reminder: today (Mon. Nov. 16, 2015) is the last day to voluntarily withdraw from courses.

Notes from Tutorial #3 and Review Class

Stas Veinberg delivered the tutorials today for second-law stuff and the introduction to considering phase transitions - he informed me he was a bit pressed for time.

Here are the notes he used for Tutorial #3, which were written by a former GA in the course.

Keep in mind that I will review materials for MT #2 from the end of L9 to L14 on Monday Nov. 16, 2015.

Consultation times are still available!

Please see this news item for a complete description of what to expect for Mid-Term #2.

Have a good weekend, and good luck in your exam preparations.

Mid-term #2 & Consultation Times

Mid-term #2 will take place during class time (12:30-1:25 pm) on Wed. Nov. 18, 2015 in:

All materials covered from L9, slide 18 to the end of L14 should be studied for this examination. Focus on assigned problems and in-class exercises, as well as the key derivations. In-class review will take place on Mon. Nov. 16, 2015.
